Be Proud to be Indian!
Indian IT Industry is a huge business with a very high growth rate year on year. And it’s true that India is making steps to grab a huge piece of share in the global ITES sector and leave other competing countries. Whatever be the facts we are shown in Indian and International Media, the truth is India is deep into encouraging the ITES, which is both a boon and a curse. Don’t ask me the details why ITES (even BPO is also a part of the so called ITES, and it is as per my view) is both a boon and curse.
For sure ITES and BPO sector put India in front of the global front for high-tech sector, but is also a growing dump yard for outdated and obsolete technology and the age old product services. This is a fact and to surprise you is not point of interest today. It’s this dump yard that a source and consumer for a huge number of forwards that we particularly in ITES and BPO keep getting and getting. As usual I got this frequent mail – ‘Be Proud to be Indian’. It has a good source of facts and Information about India – details wait are fish around if any of your friends has this mail and ask him to shoot this to your mail box, and don’t blame me if you have more than requested in your Inbox.
The facts of Importance in these mails is a list of statistics about Indians (really? Huh!! NRI’s would be better!!). You would find various points which are surely to be missed out at all key Quiz shows, particularly statistics of Indians in America. And this is a mail that Indian ITES Sector employee doesn’t want to miss forwarding these kinds of mails to their friends, colleagues, etc. And the best thing is this is a fact that our Indians bravely boasts off!! No offences meant on any of those guys/girls who forwards or forwarded those mails. Yet, as a matter of fact the mail tells to be proud to be Indian and as facts puts things like % of people in US, who are Indians. Is this a matter of thing for Indians to be proud? Sun’s co-founder may be of Indian Origin – but Sun Microsystems is never an Indian Company. Indians may be of substantial percentage in many of the areas in US, yet they make nothing to the Indian economy nor to the Indian apart from the tag “Made by Indian” given to their inventions, discoveries, etc.
You may ask why I am so angry these men. And I would answer; I am not angry on them, yet angry on people who take these people to be proud of India. No offences meant! They are successful, but not to the point of having them proud to India. What ever their achievements, their achievements are never credited to India and will not be. Have it been not for the globalization, would you ever get to hear of these Made by Indians? I wish that would not be a Myth then! I am not saying these people are to be blamed wrong with. Why blame those hard workers? Yet the same time, why take their pride to be our pride? Don’t say it’s the same have they achieved in India; you may seem to be correct at this point. But the whole thing changes, as it’s done in India rather “Made in India”. Don’t say I am arrogant, may be I am, may be I am not; for I have no Idea what is being arrogant, unless you can come and show what arrogant is!! That would be very much appreciated.
Last not but not the least! I am not to quit this without saying that the whole forwards are useless!! There are facts and truths, that makes proud to be Indian, however lack of these doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be proud of Indian. As per me, every man, every Indian Citizen, irrespective of India’s position on global fore front, be proud of what you are for what your Country, India is!! Be proud of its facelift characteristics, of the precious places, precious culture, people, market, economy, politics, and all other. At the same time, be courageous to stand out and put your words on any thing that’s against human goodwill.
