Few days back, I have received this circulation about a seminar, Essence of Corporate Social Responsibility, by a Swami, serving the man kind to make better society. Having pondering over the role of corporate business on Society and having believed these corporate businesses play a key role in leading and directing society, decided to attend this seminar.

Yesterday, being the day the seminar is scheduled, completed my work by 5:45 PM, just to ensure I would not miss the seminar from start, hurried up with some snacks at office and rushed to the big hall at third floor, the place where the seminar is scheduled to take place. Have arrived just in time, and am quite surprised to see the crowed gathered, senior citizens, parents, elders, mostly seemed to parents of IT Civilians and not to forget couple of handfuls of IT Employees themselves, quite not expected in a IT Park!!

Being new to organization I am working with, am alone at the seminar and grabbed a chair from largely unoccupied hall and am just waiting for the arrival of Swami, a renounced saint from Chennai, to deliver the scheduled seminar. At last, a wait of fifteen minutes has been blessed with an announcement that swamiji has arrived. A standing welcome is given to the swami and is respected for his due age and eligibility the gathering and soon the hall entered a mode of silence except for a bit mobile ring tones and dragging of the chairs by some late arrives.

In short with a short prayer song by a gentle follower of swamiji, followed by a small introduction of swamiji, the host has finally put the neon light on to the main speaker of the gathering. Keeping in line with his seniority, swamiji choose to prescribe our the gathering while seated. And hence the topic of the day, "Essence of Corporate Social Responsibility" began officially.

Having been pondering on this topic for a long time, I was eager and expecting information, which would describe the effects of Western Corporates on India Society and economy. Rather, the discussion kick started praising the yester years conventional societies' values; which by far many of us went on to take it accepted to be the Narrow Minded value systems. Rather the essence I could grab is of how great we were, a hypothesis (as dates to the Ice and stone ages), we believe and show evidences (the vedas, upanishads, etc. we show as thousands of hundreds years old, where as no evidence beyond that their existence is not beyond less than a half a ten thousand years) which by many don't accept them to be so, for there lies a long lost proof of validity and authenticity of the time the documents said to be available since.

Absolutely there is no mistake from the speaker, rather my imaginations are not in coincidence with swamiji's, as it so unmatched with my thoughts, I slowly started to loose my interests. As the seminar went on, I started to observe a clear ironical rather sarcastic comparision of todays lives, of whose roots swamiji just claimed to be a few minutes back, as one of the best ever society in the world. And as due happens in any general gathering, the discussion started to deviate on from to the current affairs and just hit the hot topic in Hindu religious believes - "Existence of Adam's Bridge".

I am not a person of great knowledge to comment on the authenticity of statements claimed by either side on the topic of Adam's Bridge (political and religious), but of my limited knowledge, if the said so Adam's Bridge has been truly built by Lord Ram (in entirety), and if the claims of the scientific world is true and it dates to thousands of centuries old, then either our scientific methods are wrong or the very essence of Ram's exitence is wrong. For, excavations in Gujarath state the existence of Dwaraka (birth place of Krishna) and dates to 500-600 B.C. If so Prince Ram's would have been few thousand years (less than 8 in number, considering the Hindu Yuga he belongs to and the Hindu Yuga calculation). I rather get back to my topic than deviate along with swamiji.

And there made another political satire on this issue. Thus deviating too much, I decided to leave the seminar and so briskly moved out of the hall.
